Our children are our most treasured gifts.
It is the nature and obligation of all mankind to protect at all costs our children. When we choose to become parents we are bound to protect and support their healthy growth from any and all interference that would be harmful in any way. The first years of our children's lives are priceless as these are the years for which a foundation will be created to support their decisions and behaviors throughout adolescence and into adulthood. We can not afford to allow anyone or anything to break the protective barriers surrounding our children as they are overly impressionable and innocently defenseless to things such as violence, physical and sexual abuse and in many cases, indoctrination by inappropriate lifestyles that allow for negative influences to surround our children. A child who grows up with these horrible realities has little to no chance to shed the baggage of these atrocities and function as a mature adult.
This is why we as parents, friends, relatives, neighbors, community members, preachers and public safety officials must band together and form a formidable defense against anything that can harm our children. We must form a PHALANX.
Dictionary.com defines a phalanx as follows:
pha⋅lanx [fey-langks, fal-angks] –noun
- (in ancient Greece) a group of heavily armed infantry formed in ranks and files close and deep, with shields joined and long spears overlapping.
- any body of troops in close array.
- a number of individuals, esp. persons united for a common purpose.
Our goal is not only to help unite the local communities and families to build a strong defense around our children, but, like in ancient Greece, we want this Phalanx to be formidable on offense as well as defense.
